My Story
My roots in music therapy began with an extensive, impactful education under incredible leaders in the field at the University of Iowa, I went on to train with the expert interdisciplinary teams at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio. There I honed my philosophy, adapting each session to encourage self-expression, individualize goals for personal growth, and benefit overall well-being. After years of working with a variety of individuals in what would become my primary areas of focus in the Chicagoland area, I decided to found my private practice based on the person-centered, humanistic approach I had grown to utilize in every session.
In each setting, I bring the same commitment: meet people where they are, build on their strengths, and use personalized music with intention.

My Approach
I work from a humanistic, person-centered framework, which means the individual - their strengths, preferences, history, and goals - is always at the center of the work. Music is the medium, but my relationship with clients is the foundation.
I collaborate closely with families, caregivers, and care teams to make sure sessions are integrated into the broader picture. I believe educating clients by sharing how they can continue to utilize techniques used in interventions is crucial for consistent, continuing growth. I believe music therapy works best when it's connected to the person, to their goals, and to making an impact on daily quality of life.
